The suspect’s mother called 911.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition.
The suspect is in police custody.
No word on charges he is facing at this time
The police haven’t named any of those involved yet.
One person commented about the panic defense a discredited legal ploy used by criminals to mitigate sentences.
“It’s just sad that our city isn’t sparing as the violence continues to plague Philadelphia. I’m not sure of the person nor am I certain of the circumstances but all I know is that this is a horrendous act and Trans women deserve respect, no excuses. Our abusers and perpetrators fall upon a panic defense to try and excuse the brutality of their hatred.”
This a breaking story. We will update when facts become known.
