The video of the sole officer running up the Capitol stairways pursued by Trump’s treasonous thugs on November 6, has been forever seared into my brain.

After briefly battling the insurgents, and apparently physically unharmed, he fled to the first landing, then paused, baited them again, then curiously, waited for the invaders to follow. He did that a number of times which intrigued, terrified, and sickened me.

But my curiosity was faded as the death toll began to mount and trump’s seditious cult tried to make hero’s their dead traitors.

He and a small contingent of officers were left by their superiors with a warning that a “freedom of speech rally”, like the Black Lives protests they had previously witnessed, was predicted to occur as VP Pense certified the election.

The man being chased up the stairs is Officer Goodman, a black man who saved our Republic. His pauses for the men who would surely kill him were intentional. He was waiting for them to catch up so he could lead them away from the Senate floor where the helpless Joint Congress members were crouching in fear.

His brother answered those questions at the Daily Kos writing,

“I’ve mentioned from time to time that my brother is in law enforcement. He’s a cop. Sometimes he’s even a bastard.”

“And he saves lives. He was there when the towers fell. Yes, Ground Zero. Evacuating people from the area before it all came tumbling down. He fishes bodies from rivers. From time to time he even manages to stop the suicides before they happen such as when Primetime news caught him saving some white executive bro from stepping off the ledge.”

“He’s even provided security for — wait for it — … Susan Sarandon.”

“So you’ll have to forgive the tears in my eyes when I saw Officer EUGENE GOODMAN make himself bait as white domestic terrorists chased him up several flights of stairs in the Capitol on Wednesday. I watched the footage and wondered why did he repeatedly stop to goad them, then lead them on, stop to goad again, then lead them on. Well, now we know.”

Officer Goodman stayed at his post after being warned of their impending invasion by a friend who sent him Instagrams. Officer Goodman knew his life was in peril as gulenoni incited a riled mob to settle their differences by “trial by war.” He warned him that Senator Ted Cruz had fired them up to such a frenzied state it could only end in bloodshed.

He warned this friend that trump had spoken to this armed mob imploring them to march on the capitol and find those who were certifying the presidential election.

Fox News also called the failed coup a ‘first amendment rally’.

“That was a heavily trained group of militia terrorists that attacked us,” said the officer, who has been with the department for more than a decade. “They had radios, we found them, they had two-way communicators and earpieces. They had bear spray. They had flash bangs … They were prepared. They strategically put two IEDs, pipe bombs, in two different locations. These guys were military trained. A lot of them were former military,” the officer said, referring to two suspected pipe bombs that were found outside the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee.

The officer even described coming face-to-face with police officers from across the country in the mob. He said some of them flashed their badges, telling him to let them through, and trying to explain that this was all part of a movement that was supposed to help.

“You have the nerve to be holding a Blue Lives Matter flag, and you are out there fucking us up,” he told one group of protesters he encountered inside the Capitol. “[One guy] pulled out his badge and he said, ‘We’re doing this for you.’ Another guy had his badge. So I was like, ‘Well, you gotta be kidding.’”

Another officer, a newer recruit, echoed these sentiments, saying that where he was on the steps to the Rotunda on the east side of the Capitol, he was engaged in hand-to-hand battles trying to fight the attackers off. But he said they were outnumbered 10 to 1, and described extraordinary scenes in which protesters holding Blue Lives Matter flags launched themselves at police officers.
