While Florida lawmakers consider legislation that would prohibit discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people on the job and in public housing and accommodations, St. Petersburg has already strengthened its municipal anti-discrimination policy, one of several measures that earned the city a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Municipal Equality Index.
The score sends a marketing message that the city has the right climate for business growth, said Chris Steinocher, president and CEO of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, in this video. Source
