A woman whom neighbors said was openly transgender was found dead Saturday morning in her Van Nuys California apartment. Neighbors have told reporters from KTLA and ABC 7 that the woman was open about her transgender status.
LAFD made the discovery while extinguishing a fire at the two-story structure in the 14600 block of Saticoy Street.
The police are searching for a black man, 5-foot-eight-inches, about 180 pounds and in his mid-20s, according to the news release
There has been confusion about the victim’s gender. The LAPD has identified the victim as male and at times female.
