Trans woman beaten and burned in Curitiba, Brazil

A group of young men beat a transgender woman then poured gas on her burning her badly early Sunday morning. The attack happened  at corner of Victor Ferreira do Amaral Avenue and Paul Kissula in the Tarumã district, of Curitiba, Brazil.

The atrocious act against the unidentified trans woman, aged 37, took place around 2 am Sunday, December 27th, 2015.

According to one of the rescuers, Wellington Peres, from the Fire Department was told by victim that the assault was unprovoked.

The fireman explained that “Arriving at the scene she reported bring beaten and then burned with gasoline. She had second-degree burns mainly in the face and in the skull region. Questioned she did not know what happened or the motivation of the attempted murder, ” The victim was taken to the Evangelical Hospital with 50 per cent of he body burned.

Police are looking at closed circuit video and intervening witness.
