Three suspects arrested for the rape and murder of trans man Ebeng Mayor Tria, 21 who was found Thursday, May 21, in a gully in Bagong Silang. It is believed that this heinous hate crime was committed as the world marked the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.
The body of Tria was found in Bagong Silang on Thursday, three days after telling his mother and sister that he was going out drinking with friends.
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar on Sunday said the case of the killing and alleged rape of a 21-year-old transgender man in Quezon City was “resolved.”
In a press conference on Sunday, Eleazar said they filed criminal complaints of rape with homicide and robbery against three suspects allegedly involved in the rape-slay of victim “Ebeng Mayor” Tria.
Meanwhile, according to Mai Bermudez’s 24 Oras Weekend report, the Commission on Human Rights said that they “would be conducting an independent investigation and shall work closely with the authorities in pursuing justice for Ebeng and their family.”
