Tangerine Official Trailer Trigger. Be ready for some serious dysphoria.

tangerine post

Sin-Dee “Chris Browning the bitch.”

“T’was the night before Christmas, and a young transgender prostitute has just been released from prison.”Byline describing Tangerine  making the Hollywood headlines and media.

Get ready for some serious dysphoria inducing memes and negative stereotyping. And all of that in a two-minute trailer.

So what of it? It’s a Sundance favorite. Tangerine is set to be show in theaters starting July 10th.

From the trailer description;

“It’s Christmas Eve in Tinseltown and Sin-Dee is back on the block. Upon hearing that her pimp boyfriend  hasn’t been faithful during the 28 days she was locked up, the working girl and her best friend, Alexandra, embark on a mission to get to the bottom of the scandalous rumor. Their rip-roaring odyssey leads them through various subcultures of Los Angeles, including an Armenian family dealing with their own repercussions of infidelity.

“A decidedly modern Christmas tale told on the streets of L.A., TANGERINE defies expectation at every turn.”

Alexandra telling Sin-Dee about her competition….

“She’s a real bitch like with a vagina and everything.” Really? WTF

“TANGERINE defies expectation at every turn”. Really?

Now I’m not going to get all preachy I mean I came from the street, but this video is tye gays catnip. It’s the flick ultra right-wingers Christo-fascists secretly excitedly watch in motel rooms while away from their wives.

Is it relevant to the transgender experience? For some of us it is. For the ones who made it off the street and lived, its history. For an increasingly large segment of the transgender community, it is a different world.

The trailer in the finest tradition of teasers allowed us to see a relationship develop between the cheater and the cheated. Maybe they all became best buds and learn heart-warming lessons?

Now that would be decidedly unreal. The streets are a mean hard place where doing dirty deeds, getting high and jonesing are the main occupation.
