OAKLAND California: A man has been arrested for sexually assaulting a transgender woman on the BART platform at the Coliseum Station Thursday, according to Kron 4. Angel Ramirez, 24, of Oakland was also charged with touching two other women in a sexual manner while on BART trains.

BART cars can seat 60 passengers comfortably, and under “crush load”, carry over 200 passengers.

The victims are said to be a 23-year-old cisgender woman, a 26-year-old transgender woman, and a 29-year-old cisgender woman, who were all BART riders.

Ramirez is being charged with a hate crime due to the incident involving the transgender woman — Officials say Ramirez used anti-transgender language and touched the victim.

Ramirez hit the transgender woman in the stomach, according to officials. As a precaution, the victim was taken to a hospital but has since been released.

Ramirez was booked at Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of multiple crimes, including committing a hate crime, sexual battery, battery of a public transportation passenger, resisting arrest, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

East Bay Times reports that he was being held in lieu of $187,500 bail and was due to be arraigned in court on Monday.
