Rebel Wilson slams trans face, racism at the BAFTA awards
Actress and comedian Rebel Wilson said “I’m practicing my transgender face” while presenting the best supporting actor at the BAFTA awards Sunday in London.
The Australian Women’s Weekly said the it was “offense” when she said “One day I hope to return here to win Bafta’s, I’ve already been practicing my transgender face” a reference to cisgender actors Eddie Redmayne’s performance as transgender artist Lili Elbe in The Danish Girl.
Transgender people have been outraged over the near exclusion of transgender actors who are rarely cast in parts about transgender people.
Most other media are calling her presentation hilarious in which she also said that she wouldn’t be invited to the Oscars ceremonies because they are racist.
