We’re interviewing Kevin Jones from from the Human Rights Commission of Sonoma County about his work with an up and coming LGBTQI Task force.

Here’s Kevin’s Bio:

I have been a resident of Sonoma County (Petaluma) for about five years. I own the FASTSIGNS franchise in Santa Rosa, having purchased it in March of this year. I am in the process of opening a second center in Petaluma (December 29th).
Prior to FASTSIGNS, I served as the Deputy Director and Chief Development Officer for Out & Equal Workplace Advocates, a SF-based national 501c3 working to ensure LGBTQI employees enjoy workplaces where they are free from discrimination and have equal access. I was there as a member of staff for almost 5 years, having served in various volunteer capacities with the organization including its Board of Directors. For the 25 years prior, I worked in financial services in New York City. I served for a number of years on the HRC National Business Council and on the Board of Directors for GenderPac and TrueChild – organizations focused on
In Sonoma County, I serve on the County Commission on Human Rights, representing the 2nd District. I am the chair of the Sonoma County Stonewall Democrats, an active member of St John’s Episcopal Church in Petaluma, and sing with the Sonoma Valley Chorale and the Valley of the Moon Chamber Ensemble. I am currently a member of the Leadership Petaluma class of 2015.
PERSONAL
I am married (approaching 19 years together in various forms of domestic partnerships, civil unions and as of 6/30/2013, husbands). Tony and I have being managed by two cats. I am originally from Pittsburgh PA and hold MBA and JD degrees from Washington University in St Louis.
