New Orleans man gets minimum sentence for kidnapping, robbery and attempted rape of trans woman

Joseph Pittman

Joseph Pittman is one lucky criminal said judge Judge Franz Zibilich when the state accepted his pleas dropping the charges of second-degree kidnapping and attempted aggravated rape. Pittman pleaded guilty to robbery at gunpoint and was sentenced to the minimum of 10 years.

Mr. Pittman, this could have ended real bad,”Zibilich said, noting that previous drug-related convictions in Jefferson Parish could have left the 30-year-old defendant facing a potential sentence of up to 198 years.
