Miami trans woman Skylar Heath murdered

Twenty-year-old Miami trans woman Skylar Heath was murdered on November 4, 2020, but due to misgendering and deadnaming, we are just learning about her death. Miami-Dade police found Skyler Heath of Liberty City in the vicinity of NW 14 Court and NW 82 Street, Miami, Florida at 4:13 am.

It is not yet known the circumstances surrounding her death or where she was pronounced dead.

We first learned of her murder on Social Media and a Human Rights Campaign article asking for information.

The obituary also misgendered and deadnamed Skylar Heath. She was laid to rest on November 21, 2020.

The Miami-Dade media department responding to a media request said that that this investigation remains an open and actively investigated criminal case. The Homicide Bureau detectives are actively investigating all leads regarding this case.
