Man was offered $200 to beat Dallas transgender woman

Edward Thomas, the man who beat a Dallas transgender woman on Friday did it for $200. The Dallas Morning News reported on this today after receiving new information on the arrest warrant from police.

Muhlaysia Booker who was involved in a minor traffic accident prior to the assault said she was then run off the road and threatened by the other driver who had a gun.

Edward Thomas can be seen as a bystander in the video until he was approached by another man. He then put on gloves and started viciously punching Ms. Booker. That man who approached Thomas can be seen in the video kicking the victim several times.

Edward Thomas, 29 was charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and is being held on a $75.000 bond.

The other assailants are known to police but have yet to be arrested.

Hate crimes charges might be added but that is doubtful as that does not increase the penalties under current law, but carries more burden of proof.
