Back The Blue Crew Invades BLM Friendship-West Baptist Church

According to Friendship-West Baptist Church senior pastor Frederick Douglass Haynes, the church had only approved a Black Lives Matter rally to take place on the property.

A thousand Back the Blue vehicles some waving Confederate and Trump flags shut down a Black Affirming Church Sunday. The caravan organizer said that the stop at the Friendship-West Baptist Church which has a huge Black Lives Matters Banner draped over the front was due to a ‘miscommunication’.

I call bullshit. Nothing could inflame the anger and passions of BLM and transgender community who nearly daily lament yet another black trans death.

The organizer said that he told participants that could display flags. That was intentional. Without setting limits to the hateful vindictive nature of the craven caravan so the KKK, and white supremacists they knew they had his tactic blessing. Of note, there wasn’t a single trans pride flag visible.

They were too busy thinking about killing us.

Dallas News described what happened:As the group arrived at the church, nearly 1,000 motorists entered the parking lot, which had only one entrance and exit, police said. Officers were dispatched to provide traffic control, and police said the parking lot was cleared by about 1:00 p.m.

Dallas police said that though organizers had sought a permit to get a police escort for the caravan, the request had been denied and officers did not serve as escorts for the event.

Organizers of the Back the Blue caravan said they’d received approval from the church to stop in the parking lot and also got permission to delay their departure time from noon to 12:45 p.m., the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. The organizers said a church employee opened a gate to let participants into the parking lot.

This video was shared by a Back The Blue page. The member comments were disgraceful, unchristian, and thoroughly reprehensible. It is clear from those comments that this wasn’t intended to be a rest stop. The whole point of the ‘caravan’ was to incite anger at this Church.

Although police also said in a written statement that event organizers had received permission from the church staff to use the lot as a rest stop, Friendship-West said that was not true in a video posted Sunday afternoon on Twitter.

Why 1,000 vehicles? And why that small parking lot when there so many Mega Churches in Oak Cliff?

An estimated 1000 people knelt in this social action organized by Friendship West Baptist Church in 2017.
