Berlin I love you

YM: Kiss me you are a man
Diego Luna: It’s more complicated than that.

Cisgender actor Diego Luna who plays a transgender woman in “Berlin I Love You’ response to a romantic inquiry is either highly inflammatory or fitting depending on his role.

‘Berlin I Loves You’ rated a rotten 1 star by Rotten Tomatoes

All that we have to go on is a short clip, which Pride panned as ‘Outragous’ and yes, at first take it is.

Diego Luna Alexander is a Mexican actor, director, and producer. He has appeared in many films, including Y tu mamá también, Milk, Rudo y Cursi, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. He is one of the founders and owners of Canana Films

But before summoning the firing squad we must know about the role Luna plays. If Diego Luna is playing the part of a cross-dressing man, his response would be legitimate albeit still troubling.

If Diego Luna is playing the part of a transgender woman living her true self authentically in her correct gender, the production deserves the wrath of the transgender community.

We do not even know the name of transface part. That being said it remains unconscionable that a cisgender man is again playing the part of a transgender woman.

The Latest installment of the Cities of Love franchise (Paris, je t’aime / New York, I Love You / Rio, Eu Te Amo), the collective “Berlin I Love you” is feature-film is made of ten stories of romance set in the German capital. —Emmanuel Benbihy, Executive Producer Imbd

What we do know.

  1. The producers know that the trans community will be upset that another cisgender man is playing a transgender part.
  2. It is obvious that the tiny clip would enrage us.
  3. An unknown PR profile, with 2 previous uploads years ago uploaded it on YouTube.

This clip uploaded by Katrina Wan PR on Jan 24, 2019, might be bait to enrage the transgender community. It has worked so often before resulting in little-known productions getting free massive outrage hype propelling them to the spotlight.

Young man: “I don’t know if I prefer to kiss a man or woman.”

Diego Luna: “You just have to try both.”

YM: Yes. looking thoughtfully at Diego Luna he asks “But how??”

DL: “Just go and ask them,” answers Diego Luna, shrugging. “Simple.”

YM: “Will you please kiss me?”

DL: “Excuse me?”

YM: “I’m asking you, will you please kiss me? I want to know how it feels to kiss a man.”

DL: “Hmmm,” Diego Luna says “You know baby, technically right now you are are in front of a woman. It’s not going to work.”

YM: “Yeah but you are a man.”

DL: “It’s more complicated than that.”
