Birmingham man Denzell Thomas charged with attempted murder and murder

Denzell Thomas was charged Monday, October 10th with first-degree murder in connection with the Sept. 23rd death of Birmingham transgender woman Jazz Alford.

Thomas was charged with the murder of Alford while being held at the Jefferson County Jail on a $200,000 bond for the attempted murder and robbery of an unidentified transgender woman on October 3rd. Denzell Thomas is also being held on unrelated charges of carrying a pistol without a license and drug possession after arrests over the summer
