Dallas transgender assassination attempt survivor to present at rally


August 20, 2019, Domingo Ramirez-Cavente attempted to murder transgender woman Daniela Calderon-Rivera shooting her seven times as she waited at a Dallas bus stop.

Domingo Ramirez-Cayente, a Mexican national, was freed on a $25,000 bond Sept 26th the day after his arrest without as much as an ankle bracelet.

The victim Daniela Calderon-Rivera underwent emergency surgery didn’t know that the man who tried to kill her whereabouts had become unknown to law enforcement until she happened to read The Advocate.the day after he bonded out.

Across the country, transgender women of color are being targeted and attacked. These senseless acts of violence are motivated by ignorance and hate towards the transgender community. Recently, one of these attacks happened RIGHT HERE IN DALLAS!

On Friday, September 20th, Daniela Calderon-Rivera survived an attack on her life while waiting at a bus stop in Dallas. Daniela’s attacker, Domingo Ramirez-Cayente confessed to police that he shouted derogatory remarks about gay and transgender people before opening fire and shooting Daniela multiple times.

On September 26th, Domingo Ramirez-Cayente, was released from jail on a $25,000 bond by magistrate Hal Turley. Since posting bail, Domingo Ramirez-Cayente has fled and can not be found.


WE CALL on the Dallas Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, FBI, and the Mexican Consulate to work collaboratively TO FIND HIM and BRING HIM IN.

WE CALL on the courts TO DO BETTER and HOLD HIM ACCOUNTABLE for his actions.

WE CALL on the District Attorney John Crezuot TO PROSECUTE HIM to the fullest extent of the law.
