Chicago Transgender woman found dead on June 6, 2020 Identified


Transgender woman Koko Nia Labeija, 19 was found dead by police in an abandoned warehouse on April 6, 2020. But due to her decomposed state, her existence remained unknown until recently.

Thanks to the work of Kaylara Owl and the Trans Lives Matters project her next of kin can have some closure.

Kaylara Owl alerted the TDoR project on Twitter to her death and from there they were able to match the time and date with the government missing person records.
