Brazilian trans woman fatally stabbed in transphobic crime

Campina da lagoa

A trans woman (transvestite according to Brazilian news) was fatally stabbed in Campina da lagoa, on the center west of the Paraná Region.

C. M. B. Neves, 25, was taken last Sunday (21) to an emergency city unit with stab wounds. Apparently it’s a case of transphobia (homophobia according to brazilian news).

It is written that a man approach the woman and, without any provocation, started insulting her, calling her “traveco” (a slur term for transvestite) and other slur expressions. Both then began arguing and the killer picked a knife and wounded victim’s leg, followed by a stab on her chest.

Police is searching for the man, but so far unsuccessfully.

Her body was taken to Campo Mourão forensics medical institute.
