Black trans woman Brayla Stone, 17, was found murdered in Little Rock on June 25, at 2:55 PM by police. Her family has tried to keep her trans identity hidden sowing confusion, emboldening haters, and delaying justice.  One man even bragged about killing her for $5,000 on Snap Chat saying it was “money well spent”.

Update: NLR Man Arrested for killing transgender teen Brayla Stone

An Arkansas Minister Lucas Delaney said that he contacted Braylas’ family in regards to a Facebook fundraiser he begun for a plaque in her honor. However, after contacting them he told Planet Trans that he believed that they were not supportive of her transition as during their conversation her mother only used her deadname/ pronouns.

Minister Delaney posted on Facebook that he learned the funds couldn’t be used as he intended, but that he would send the money to her family to help with funeral expenses.

Another friend, Kadyn Loring begun a petition a day ago asking that Sherwood Police Department and the Little Rock Police Department say her name. The petition Justice for Brayla Stone which received over 40,000 signatures in the past 24 hours can be SIGNED HERE.

Remembering our dead website which reports on trans murders worldwide has been overwhelmed. Calling the previous months ‘brutal’ the site reported that as of the 25th there had been 8 trans murders including that of Brayla Stone in the previous seven days.

Center for Artistic Revolution(CAR) is hosting a Candle Light Vigil for Brayla Stone Monday, June 29, at Boyle Park from 6:30 PM until 7:30 PM. Car posted the following:

“We ask everyone who comes to wear a mask and to wear red or purple (Brayla’s favorite colors) and if you would like to bring things to add to the community altar you are welcome.”

“We are holding a candlelit vigil to honor Brayla Stones memory, Brayla was someone who always held space for others to be themselves and express their identities. Despite the fact that these institutions didn’t support Brayla, it is important that we uplift her memory and dedicate ourselves to seeking justice for her. She was 17 years old and her life was taken far too soon. We must put a stop to the violence against Black transwomen. We don’t want another Black transwoman’s death to go unnoticed.”

Fox News has been reporting on Brayla Stone murder. Much to their credit have used gender-neutral pronouns but have updated the article quoting police sources that use her deadname.

My heaet and deepest condolences to the family of this beautiful lady, who was taken from them and all of us at the hands of an individual who runs on pure evil. Pure hate. This individual is obviously heinous to the core to carry out a thing like this.
And how dare Fox News comply with bigotted police there to change they’re reporting so as to deadname this gorgeous lady
I truly hope and pray Fox News goes totally bankrupt and becomes defunct.
It’s 2020 and enough is enough is a friggin enough of the hate and discrimination against anybody.
ALL LIVES MATTER! DUH! WHY DOES ANYBODY HAVE TO BE TOLD THIS?
May God come down these hatemongers like dledge hammer!

You are correct, “all lives do matter”, the problem is that the present society all too often treats the lives of both black and transgender people as if they do not matter, or at least as if they do not matter as much as the lives of white and cisgender people, respectively.

So, it is the prevailing bigotry of both white and cisgender mainstream society towards black and transgender people, respectively, that compels we who believe that all lives do matter to take up the slogans BLACK LIVES MATTER , or TRANSGENDER LIVES MATTER, not because we don’t think that the lives of others don’t matter equally, but rather to boldly call attention to the fact that our society all too often treats the lives of black and transgender people alike, as less worthy than the lives of white and cisgender people, respectively.

And, in the above context, the slogan “All Lives Matter” is rendered meaningless, not because it isn’t true, but because as a slogan it fails to call attention to the extraordinary persecution and oppression that is the lot of minorities such as black and transgender people under the present order of alleged civil and human rights for all.

So, until the day finally arrives when the rights and privileges of black, transgender, and other oppressed people’s exist in total equity with the rights and privileges enjoyed by white, cisgender, and heterosexual people, those that are fighting to make such a premise a social reality in fact, as opposed to merely in sentiment and on paper, must continue to raise the banner of BLACK LIVES MATTER and TRANS LIVES MATTER, even as we oppose the slogan “white lives matter” as both meaningless and reactionary under the present regime of white supremacist, homophobic and transphobic bigotry and violence.

Let me get this straight. The Minister collects donations for a memorial to honor Brayla, but the family doesn’t agree and disrespects her by deadnaming her, so he gives the donated money TO THE PEOPLE WHO DISRESPECTED HER?? Build her the memorial, screw the bigoted family!

This senseless violence and slaughter (yes, i said it, because it is) needs to stop. We were all created equally. So grow up and stop being cruel to others.
