Angela Licinius died Monday, February 1st in Ufa, Russia after being stabbed in the heart  reportedly by the husband of an ex-lover.

According to reports the unnamed man has confessed and has been remanded to pre-trial custody.

Russian transphobia is rampant. Pride Parades have been banned, homosexuality criminalized, and LGBT people are routinely attacked while police stand by and watch.

A dashcam video filmed during a routine 2014 traffic stop shows police laughing as Ms. Licinius exits their car. Ms. Licinius gained unwanted notoriety becoming the target of transphobia after the video was published by ufa.ru causing her great distress.
