Police are warning trans sex workers in the Charlotte area that they are in danger as a second trans woman was shot to death on Thursday. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police spokesman Rob Tufano said Thursday that the similarities in the way the two were murdered and that both were transgender woman leads them to suspect there is a common thread.

The CPD knows the latest victim’s name but can’t release it until they contact the next of kin. The victim. a transgender woman of color was found in a hotel room at the Sleep Inn, located on North Tryon Street in University City early Thursday morning, authorities said.
