“2 1/2 Daddies” starring a transgender woman and two male siblings premieres Saturday

1 1/2 Daddies, a Filipino comedy with an extremely problematic name starring the Padilla siblings hopes to explore and enlighten viewers to transgender realities according to Sun Star news. The education began during the press interview when Robin corrected a journalist who called them ‘brothers’.

Produced by TV5, the series tells the story of three siblings, two men and one transgender, who find themselves in a sticky situation when out of nowhere a baby girl is left on their doorstep with a note revealing that one of them is the father.

Rommel said that a lot of people can relate to the story because it will tackle a lot of issues faced by siblings and families.

“In this project, we’ll represent a modern Filipino families. It’s really happening right now. We also show that the world now, not just women and men live in the world. The LGBT is existing and it’s really a community, “he said.

Aside from the Padilla siblings, the show will also feature seasoned actress Celia Rodriguez, Francine Prieto, Dennis Padilla and Alice Dixson.
