Transgender woman Gabriel Tinto, 51, was found hanged a week after submitting a bullying complaint to Wiltshire College, Salisbury, UK.
In her last facebook entry, she said “Getting frustrated about my voice again, it’s the first thing people judge me by and instantly marks me as trans and the most common reason my gender is questioned. So isolating and nothing I can do to change it. I feel hopeless and angry about it, I’m instantly judged and there is nothing I can do to make people see further.”
Later saying “I am starting to believe the insults…I am tired and I can’t see a happy ever after.”
“there is a lot going on. I got more abuse wednesday and I am having issues because of it. I will be in Tuesday and I’ll explain then”
Gabriel Tinto also posted on Google+ about the difficulties she was experiencing getting treatment “I’ve posted a few links to articles on my Facebook page that may be of interest to those in transition, they are primarily concerned with the lack of professional knowledge within the initial care for transgenders within the British NHS care system.”
Friends posted a stream of comments following the tragic news.

Wiltshire College principal Amanda Burnside told the Bath Chronicle everyone at the college was shocked and saddened by the news.
She confirmed Gabriel had made an official complaint about bullying, but had been clear that only one person had been involved.
The college was investigating the complaint and had emailed Gabriel with an update on Thursday, unaware of what had happened, Ms Burnside said.
It is understood dog walkers discovered Gabriel’s body hanged from a tree near the leisure centre and raised the alarm. Her family have been informed.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “Police are not treating the death as suspicious however enquiries are ongoing and a file will be prepared on behalf of H M Coroner for Wiltshire.
“Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.”
I didn’t know her but have tried to learn a little about her life cut short by transphobia. If in fact there was one person directly responsible for the bullying I hope they are help accountable. I did find that she listened to music and will share that with you now.
