Trans Advocate Julianna Fialkowski Charged with Child Pornography
Trans woman previously arrested for helping prevent a trans male suicide now arrested for child pornography
In April of 2015, Julianna Tourmaline Fialkowski name was splashed all over LGBTQ+ media for her arrest of helping a trans teen she saw on Facebook “crying out for help.” The headline in this publication read, “Julianna Fialkowski arrested for helping a suicidal Trans teen.”
Multiple sources ran articles and Julianna told The Advocate “I never imagined helping teens or others would come to something like this.” She was originally arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor for helping a 17 year trans male after he claimed he was suicidal and was prone to self-harm.
Charges were dropped in May of 2015 and her arrest record was sealed or expunged as a result.
This wasn’t the first time Julianna Tourmaline had been in the news; in May of 2014, she made headlines when a Lynchburg, Virginia Circuit Court Judge denied her a name change. Judge Yeatts had asked about Julianna’s current status on SRS when the name change was denied.
The decision was immediately reversed, and Gayrva reported, “Lawyer Kate Fletcher received the information late this afternoon via fax. She suggested it was the brief she filed, combined with the press around the issue, which led the judge to rule based on the statute which is what they had asked for all along.”
Now, it looks like Julianna Tourmaline Fialkowski may be facing charges far more serious than the delinquency of a minor. On September 1, 2015, Lynchburg, Virginia County arrest records show that Julianna Fialkowski has been arrested for allegedly violating state statute 18.2-74.1:1, or possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation and facilitation of child pornography.
According to Virginia law, any person who knowingly possesses child pornography is guilty of a Class 6 felony and are subject to “imprisonment of not less than 5 years nor more than 20 years in a state correctional facility, five years of which shall be a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment.
During a phone call to the clerk at the Blue Ridge Prison in Lynchburg County, Virginia, Planet Transgender has verified (at approx 3:30) that Fialkowski has been in custody in ‘G’ Unit of the Blue Ridge Regional Jail since her arrest on September 1, 2015 and is being charged under Virginia state statute 18.2-74.1:1, possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation and facilitation of child pornography.
Fialkowski’s Facebook, Twitter, Etsy, Pinterst and all blog and personal entries online have been scrubbed from the internet as of three weeks ago, however, a post on Supernatural: A Blog titled, “Hey guys, I’m mad and scared, and I’m here to tell you all a thing:” reblogged by Tumblr accounts Kongou-saan, Gwensuxx and BytheGracioussavingcall was a tip that trouble may have been brewing with Fialkowski for quite some time. The blog states, “…I have over time discovered Julie is a f*cking predator, and has taken advantage, frequently in sexual manners, of me and over six other people, all from an LGBT group she formed.”
The blog warned people of Fialkowski and another unknown female about the accusations, however, each re-blog from the original three have since been deleted from Tumblr; Tumblr users Kongou-san and Gwensuxx have also been deleted and are now only available through cached pages.
Planet Transgender has reached out to Tumblr user Carryonwaywardfan, the keeper of the Supernatural: A Blog, where the post has appeared and as of press time, we have not received a reply.
As a reminder, all people are innocent until proven guilty and as of today, no additional information is available; Planet Transgender will keep you posted on the latest developments.
