Texas Transgender Bathroom Bill passes Senate Vote
The Texas Transgender Bathroom Bill, SB6 passed the Senate today 21 to 10.
The vote was along party lines, republicans for and democrats against except for democrat Senator Eddie Lucio of Brownsville who abandoned his party and people casting the deciding vote to pass it.
Wednesday is the third and final reading. If it gets a simple 2/3 vote it will move to the House for a vote.
I implore my readers to leave a note on Senator Eddie Lucio his Facebook page, a mention on twitter and call his capitol office 512.463.0127.
Please be civil but remind him that he is a Democrat. Senator Lucio bases his decisions on his faith, he needs to read this article.
Should SB6 pass the Senate the next step will be the House where speaker Joe Straus has given it a tepid reception indicating that SB6 is not a priority for him.
Please call Speaker Straus at (512) 463-1000 or tweet @SpeakerStraus and thank him for prioritizing the needs of the people above the hate of the few.
