Miss Trans America Founder First US Transgender Murder of 2018

Christa Leigh Steele-Knudslien, 42, Miss Trans America founder was found dead at her home in North Adams Mass Friday evening. Police went to her residence after her husband Mark Steele-Knudslien reportedly went to the station Friday night and confessed to her murder. Christa Leigh Steele-Knudslien married Mark last summer according to her Facebook posts.

Christa Leigh Steele-Knudslien was a friend of mine on Facebook. She was an exuberant soul who just days ago shared about her new snow blower, home improvements while endearing encouraging her husband’s efforts to quit smoking.

Mark Steele-Knudslien was held overnight at the Adams Police Department until he was taken to the Berkshire County Jail and House of Correction on Saturday, and being held there without bail pending a Monday arraignment.

The Berkshire Eagle reports that an autopsy will be conducted Sunday by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Holyoke, according to the statement, which didn’t say how or when Steele-Knudslien is believed to have killed his wife.
